By securing renewable certificates to match their usage they can demonstrate they have procured 100% renewable power. When a country becomes a part of a renewable energy procurement system (GOs, RECs or I-RECs), they become more attractive operating areas for large companies like Google or Apple that wish to procure renewable energy globally." Microsoft's policies, alongside those of Google, Apple, and others, are driving renewable energy uptake.
